Permanent, full-time position
We seek an individual to join our growing team as a post-production coordinator, primarily managing our commercial/adland job bookings and clients. You would also be assisting the senior post-production coordinator and post-producer with various tasks relating to our long-form and episodic productions.
Prior post-production experience is welcome but certainly NOT necessary. We are willing to cross-train someone with production experience into the role.
Feedback: We welcome positive and constructive feedback on this job posting. Please share your thoughts directly with our Managing Director, Darius Family, via darius@postlab.io or send an email anonymously.
We run on 8 hour days which includes 1 hour for lunch.
Most of us operate 830am-430pm, though these times are flexible, and the team is free to WFH as they see fit.
A typical day is fast-paced, and priorities can frequently shift as our productions evolve; however, to misuse Newton's Third Law, there is an equal and opposite reaction for every action.
For us, this means; if a client makes a priority request, and we consent to it, then something else in the day's activities needs to be bumped to the following day, which bumps something else and so on. The result is that a deadline must change, or the client must provide further funds to hire additional resources.
Put simply, we don't give people more work and expect them to get it all done in the same amount of time.
A post-production coordinator communicates with clients and negotiates the scheduling and execution of jobs. Providing cost estimates, defining scope, assigning talent and engaging vendors when required.
Coordinators ensure that the work gets done by allocating the appropriate time and resources and keeping track of the schedule.
A typical day involves responding to client communications, answering general phone and email enquiries, tracking the progression of projects in our tracking software, and liaising with the technical team to scope and schedule work.
In particular for this role, your primary duty would be to coordinate our commercial colour grading jobs which are much simpler in scope and faster in turnaround than our long-form/episodic productions. However, this duty may evolve over time to include long-form/episodics.
